Mercedes is going electric, and they're doing it with 525 horsepower. They're not joking around here. The SLS AMG will (in more than a few years) be an electric supercar built to rival anything anyone (including certain silicon valley startups) can think up. It's based on the old Mercedes Gullwing, first introduced in the 50's.
A lithium ion battery will run from front to back in the car, in the same configuration as the Chevy Volt. The battery will power four electric motors with a peak output of 525 horsepower which will add up to a zero-to-sixty time of less than four seconds.
We don't know where the battery will come from, but some have speculated that since Daimler owns a bit of Tesla, there might be an opportunity for technology crossover there.
Don't get your checkbooks out yet though, Autocar says the last estimate they heard for a release date was 2015.

The problem of battery is not major concern, they will find it, but they have to see that how long it lasts for 1 charging cycle
