New Teaser Shots of the Production Chevy Volt

GM just released a couple new teasers of the design of the production Volt. An unobscured look at the front corner, and the first ever public look at the rear.

The only new information we can pull from these is that the rear is quite high, which isn't suprising given the need for a low drag coefficient, and that it looks like the rear panel of the trunk will be transparent (though that's not confirmed.)

Sorry for drooling over this in front of you all, but sometimes I can't help myself. Full resolution images are below.

The volt is going to be sweet if it makes it to production. I hope it does. I just posted a video on my blog about the aptera. Which I think will give the volt a run for its money.

The volt appears to look like a car, which the aptera does not. Most folks, even the hybrid gas sipping crowd, want to by great cars - not space ships. The novelty factor of the aptera will wear off unless they make cars that look more like cars.

It looks like we will have to wait for an Asian auto manufacturer to get into the act before there is a decent electric car.
