Evergreen solar (which got mixed up pretty seriously in the Lehman Brothers crash, and has since sued them for not repaying bonds) has just closed down one of two manufacturing plants. The company expects to pay out $350,000 in severance costs through March.
The plant that is closing down was Evergreen's pilot plant. Their full scale manufacturing plant will continue operating. Hopefully this will keep Evergreen afloat through the rough times ahead, but we're not sure if their technology or their market share is going to be viable by the time the solar market recovers.
