High-Speed Rail Line Gets Covered by a Solar Tunnel

A high-speed rail line that takes passengers from Paris to Amsterdam has just gotten some solar bling. A two-mile portion of the track is now enclosed in a solar panel-covered tunnel.

The stretch of track is located near Antwerp, Belgium. This is such a great use of renewable energy technology! My only question is, what type of solar panels were used? Paradigm Partners is a manufacturer's representative for Lumeta PowerPly panels. This product can sustain the weight of falling debris much better than traditional paneling since it weighs much less.

Aside from rail line it can also be used as a solar tunnel lane that can produce energy for us to be used. With that it'll make up the space and it can rail line can be used in dual purpose. Subsidies for electricity produced from photovoltaics is currently at €330 per MWh and is guaranteed to stay at that price for 20 year. Until end of 2009 it was even at €450/MWh but since prices of PV panels are dropping rapidly subsidies are going down as well.

I live in the smallest county in the state of California (Santa Cruz) where we pay to maintain approximately 412.322 miles of hard surface county roads and http://www.aldentheatre.org/cheap-levitra-uk streets, not just city streets and roads of www.pereverges.cat which there are even more miles of hard surface roads. I think it would be very nice to cover our not so beautiful roads, even Highway one, to reduce on noise pollution and reduce the "heat island" caused by the sun shining on all of that concrete and asphalt. Why not install durable windmills(that spin when there is not so strong to holy $?!T wind) in the location that catches the buying viagra wind flow of the train. Maybe this can work with highways too. Cars/wind lower taxes? I did say maybe.
