Wal-Mart Going 100% Renewable in Canada

Wal-Mart Canada has revealed that they're working towards getting 100 percent of their electricity from renewable energy.

To meet that goal, two large Canadian stores have been outfitted with rooftop solar panels and www.unifem.it wind turbines, with other major projects on the www.spotfodo.com way.  The retail store intends to generate enough renewable energy to sell some back to the grid.

Hopefully, these plans extend to viagra prescription only the U.S. as well.  Many stores here have been outfitted with solar panels, and a New Jersey store will soon replace all its light poles with wind turbines, but the company has indicated that they'll only work towards being completely powered by renewable energy if that renewable energy matches or beats grid parity.  So, as long as it's cheap.

Sounds like they want coals real cost added to their electric bill. Yet another reason to add a negative impact tax (CO2, couple others) and then spend that money on energy eff and roof top PV for goverment buildings and public schools.

I know it will not happen with the air heads in Washington.

Walmart should be applauded, even if their motivation is to save money. It's still an investment that takes time to pay off. The bigger the market for this tech, the less expensive for everyone. Still, I miss Walmart's old "Bring it home to the USA" that sourced product domestically instead of overseas.

Regardless of what people may think of cheap canadian viagra Wal-Mart for going into communities and outperforming small local shops, or the allegations of discrimination against promoting women, using renewable energy is a good move.

Other businesses look at Wal-Mart as a model. If Wal-Mart uses renewable energy, many other companies will follow the example as a way of being competitive. So, good for them!

Do other businesses look at Wal-Mart as a model? This is distressing, but I suppose they must. Oh, capitalism.
