It's almost ironic that Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley was born on Arbor Day. Being a New Yorker, I'm compelled to comment. For 10 years, NYC has put on "MulchFest" to turn used Christmas trees into mulch. Last year over 165,000 trees were recycled by the city.
