I took power consumption into account during my last computer build. I was able to come out of it with a computer that uses Nvidia's hybrid SLI. In normal energy saving mode, the computer uses 58W. When I want to do any 3d work/gaming, I enable performance mode and it kicks my power consumption to around 100W+. You pay a lot for fancy graphics! Also note, this is only the power consumption of the computer itself, it does not include monitor, speakers, router, etc. - Tim

It is always good to be efficient with our energy. By using solar power for the energy you do use I think it will make an even bigger difference. - Solar Power
