OK...we've seen solar bags...and we've seen bags made of plastic bottles...but this is the first time we've seen those two environmental innovations co-existing. Pretty frikkin cool really. Voltaic and Reware are both making gadget-charging solar bags out of post-consumer plastic.
Post-consumer, recycled-plastic fibers take less energy to create, don't use any new materials, and keep the plastic in use and out of landfills. Meanwhile, solar-powered bags keep your cell phone or iPod going without the need to plug in to the electric grid.
In terms of environmental innovations, it's not gonna change the world...but it is a pretty cool way to wear your EcoGeek badge on your sleeve.

I wondered what kind of plug-in system they were using, and it seems from their site that they're trying to give you the option of charging by every single means known to man! Looks like a cool thing to have. Now, if only they made a carrier bag type thing of the same kind, I'd be REALLY interested.

This is the perfect thing for a college student to keep their electronics going. I wish I had one when I was in school, because it seemed like I was always going somewhere.

At the price of $240, I don't think many college students are going to buy one of these.

is $199 at bend solar maybe less elsewhere? Thats doable, and its higher power than the voltaic brand.
