Tesla Delivers First Production Car

Tesla Motors' all-electric sports car was an intriguing concept when we first heard about it. But, in the past year, stories of upheaval at Tesla have led some to doubt whether the company would be able to produce the car they were trying to build.

But in the last few weeks, other bloggers (luckier folks than we are) have been getting the opportunity to test drive the Tesla in preparation for sales beginning in March and otherwise gearing up to start selling these cars. And now, the Earth2Tech website has pictures of the first production Tesla roadster being delivered to Tesla headquarters.

It will be quite a while before one of these is sitting in my driveway, I'm afraid. But this is another milestone in the ongoing story of electric vehicles making a new, and hopefully lasting, impression in the automotive market.

*I* will call it a sportscar, if starts to compete in races. such as the 24 hour race on the nordschleife in germany... where are already alternate fuel cars are competing against each other in their classes. diesel... ethernol... gas... you name it. i will call it only a pice of crap and not a "sports" car, if it doesn't race for real smilies/angry.gif how should it get better, if it doesn't race?!? racing is evolution for cars!
