You may remember the big maps in your college’s UU with pins of people’s names, numbers, and where they’re headed for the holidays or vacation so you could all partner up and save money on a trip home. You never really quite knew who you’d get stuck with. And thumbing a ride on the freeway has its sketchiness. We expect better service this day and age, even when it comes to hitching a ride.
Roadsharing has provided a user-friendly website that allows folk to thumb a ride without having to worry quite as much about shady people. There are tons of ride sharing and car sharing programs up and running, but having one at your fingertips on the internet is pretty handy. Basically you can enter a route you want to take and find people who are headed the same direction and who have or need a vehicle to get there. The site works in five languages and covers 21+ countries. This would be an awesome way to get around the country or a semi-adventurous way to travel Europe.
