When it comes to solar cells, it helps to be flexible – literally. Thin, flexible cells exist although they usually fall short in terms of how efficient they are, how much they cost, etc. Researchers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, however, have recently developed a cell that is both flexible and powerful.

Introducing the solar powered pencil!
written by Francis , October 07, 2008
I've always been intrested in using solar energy as an alternative to fossil fuels. I'm glad that new ideas for creating solar cells have come about..I can only hope it doesn't come with too high of a price tag. Solar energy power plants produce an huge about of electricity....however, they are expensive to build. I hope they can find cheaper, more efficent ways to use all forms of alternative energy.
