PodTech Takes the Vetrix for a Spin  E-mail

Our friends at PodTech took some time to attend the West Coast Launch of the Vectrix electric motorcycle. They chat for a bit, and then take the bike for a spin around San Francisco. The most interesting part for me was when the PR guy from Vectrix said that he thought $11,000 was a good price point for the value their offering. I mean, maybe in the Bay Area, but not in the rest of the country. But that doesn't change the fact that they're "having trouble keeping them in stock." I'm not saying I don't want one, I'm just saying I want one for $5000 less.

Also, it was interesting to hear how the regenerative breaking system works. Instead of complicated generators surrounding the wheel hub, the Vectrix simply reverses it's electric engine. So by pulling backward on the throttle, the engine becomes the generator. Simplicity!
