![]() We all know the Nature Conservancy does the world well by purchasing and protecting sensitive, ecologically important lands and waters. A well established organization such as this understands taking to the Web to promote its message and is kicking off a new online audio series looking at how people interact with landscapes. Stories from the Heart of the Land is a five part series which is geared towards engaging "listeners through the ancient art of storytelling and reawakening their connection to place." To this end the Nature Conservancy teamed with Atlantic Public Media to send a collection of radio broadcasters to various points around the globe to tell their personal narratives of interactions with nature. Tales spun include coming face to face with a grizzly, meeting with activists who are fighting to save rivers and biking in the American West. It is through these tales and others, Nature Conservancy hopes, that we will understand better the connection between us and Planet Earth. Science, technology gadgets and...baby seals. We're in a bit of an eco-mess, but we've got the brains to lick any problem. And that's why EcoGeek.org publishes up to ten stories daily about innovations that are saving the planet.
And if that sounds interesting to you, then congratulations, you're an EcoGeek.
