Many of us had tree houses when we where kids. It was our fort, where our pre-adolescent selves could gather together within homemade hardwood walls to discuss important issues such as who had cooties. Tree houses have come a long way since those days. Imagine having your home office up in a tree with plumbing, electricity, and internet access.
A company in Paso Robles, California called Daniels Wood Land makes custom and luxurious tree houses for adults and children. Their tree houses sell from $7,000 up to $1 million. Daniels Wood Land is not the only company that makes these exotic tree houses. O2 Sustainability Tree Houses makes tent-like houses made out of aluminum and canvas, which are suspended from branches. O2 calls them canopy tree houses which run around $18,800. TreeHouse Co. in Kilmarnock, Scotland also makes custom tree houses. This company built a custom tree house for the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. The tree house was one of the largest wooden tree houses in the world. It was 6,000 square feet and contained a 120-seat restaurant, a retail shop, two classrooms, and two private dining rooms. This giant tree house cost around $6 million.
Custom tree houses are continuously growing in popularity as home additions, and even exotic destinations, which include hotels and restaurant.
Imagine if an entire city was based on these tree houses. Not only would the city be in the middle of a beautiful forested landscape, it would also be like living in some kind of neat science fiction movie. We can be like the Wood Elves from The Lord of the Rings.
